Let's Cherish Diwali
Inside out, DIWALI FESTIVAL-- Let’s
unfold the reason behind lighting Diya
Right from my child hood (when I used to
watch Hindi dramas) till now, I always wonder, what is Dewali? What is the motive
behind this festivity? Specifically, why diyas and lights are essential for
this festival? This anxiousness led me
toward research and this is what I found.
Dewali or Deepavali literal meaning is
“the path of lights” and verily, this festivity always illuminates the beauty of
your surroundings. The heartthrob deco, the majestic Rangolis, the spectacular set
ups for Diyas and lights, yum foods and sweets, gifting hence every dimension
of this festival endorse the healthy deal of happiness and glee. But those diyas
blowing and fab light deco is tempting, enough to ask the question “why”?
Here, we are unfolding the reason.
The one of the reasons behind the
lighting in this festivity is right there in the books of Hindu mythology and
history .So according to those books, Hindus celebrates the return of their
lord Ram to his kingdom AYODHYA. Actually the story begins when the lord step
mother of Ram became possessive toward his own son, wishing to see him on the
throne, due to this, she sent her step son Ram into the forest on the account
of being exiled .But after 14 years, Ram fought for his right and held his
position. Ram and his wife Sita’s arrival was cherished by the whole kingdom.
The people of Ayodhya celebrated the victory by blowing earthen lamps and
illuminate lights.
The commemoration of this event, urges
the spirit of thankfulness among believers and to cherish that moment Hindus
community follows the path of Ayodhyas.
